I am concerned by the situation unfolding at PRCS Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis. For the past 27 days, Al-Amal Hospital has been enduring shelling, endangering the lives of patients, medical staff, PRCS teams and civilians in the surrounding area. I again

Really important message from ICRC at #UNGA79 - civilians are #NotATarget . Neither are humanitarians but over 200 have been killed this year alone. 94% were local staff. #ProtectHumanity

Climate Change Made Europe’s Deadly Floods Worse and More Likely . critical lessons: - Similar storms will become 50% more frequent in central Europe if warming reaches 2C - death toll in central Europe was lower than previous flood events because of early warnings

Welcome news of #ceasefire . Hard work ahead: to meet basic needs of people of Gaza and to create a durable lasting peace. PRCS working without relief for months have lost staff and volunteers, yet working hard to ensure emergency medical care to people in dire need.

Heartbreaking news from Sudan. Iman Abbas, a Sudanese Red Crescent volunteer, lost her life while on duty saving lives. On behalf of @IFRC, I express our profound sadness and extend my deepest condolences to her family and our colleagues at the Sudanese Red Crescent.

We lost 32 RCRC staff and volunteers last year. These are not just numbers but people with friends and families and dreams. If humanitarian workers aren't safe they cant help people in need. Thinking of Iman, of her colleagues and family. #protecthumanity #NotATarget
