Yesterday was a big day for my PhD - in Australia the robotic right hemicolectomy course, and in London the roboSTART course from IMRA Surgical - also on Bluesky - both multiplatform, using novel hydrogel models. Adding a lot of data for the ideal training design in multiplatform robotic surgery!

This weekend you can come get your hands on some robots (and experience a bit of multiplatform training in action) at the IMRA Surgical - also on Bluesky & Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research collab. I'll be training at the roboSET and assistant courses! See here and sign up: courses.imracademy.com

Wrapping up three days teaching and researching (and cuddling) with the robots and team IMRA Surgical - also on Bluesky at the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research. Was a very special experience to be a part of and I have high hopes for the future of robotic surgery in NSW!

How should we approach procedural assessments in robotic colorectal surgery in a way that facilitates trainees getting access to "components" - improving access and improving training! The deconstructed procedural description is a start... link.springer.com/article/10.100…

It's trainees day today so this is an appreciation post. Although still statistically improbable all gen surg trainees at my current hospital are female (five SET trainees + our fellow too!!) All superstars 🌟 all fabulous humans 🥰 General Surgeons Australia RACSurgeons #ilooklikeasurgeon

Only the tiniest bit jealous that my awesome doctor daughter Kirsten Larkins is giving an invited Keynote on her PhD research in Robotic Surgery Education in Edinburgh today. (One day I'll get to be keynote speaker...)

First ever Robotic for Trainees conference ✅ Huge thank you to all 4 Royal colleges and 7 robotic platforms who supported us. Hands on training, talks from world experts, cutting-edge research and really productive discussion. Is this the start of a future of collaboration?
