Lost my Grandad at the weekend, very suddenly💔 Hasn’t sunk in yet. Have not processed it among supporting those closest to me. Back on shift today, dreading it really😮‍💨 But I was reminded when with my 1st patient & I pulled out my Stethoscope, that he’s always close by… K💙

8 major hospitals have declared critical incidents in the last 24hrs alone. Some of the 100s patients are stranded on trolleys, in corridors & in the back of ambulances will likely die there. This isn’t normal, inevitable or attributable to viruses alone. It’s a catastrophe.

Yesterday 83rd on the phone lines to speak to South West Water got cut off after holding for over 2 hrs. Online chat today commence at 0907…2 Was still waiting for an agent to connect at 1700 .. one should have been with me “in 5 mins!” Watsapp average reply 10mins..nothing!🥴

Went for an interview a few weeks back and one of the questions stuck with me.. “If in years to come a patient or their family are asked to sum your care up in one sentence, what would you hope they’d say?” Fellow clinicians, curious as to what you’d say? … K💙
