Hello Twitter, it's been some time... Very excited to be starting my PhD this month with Julie Oswald VMJanik Lab SUPER Doctoral Training Partnership at University of St Andrews. I'll be diving into novel ways to detect and classify Scottish dolphin species by their vocalizations. Feeling the finspiration! 🤟🐬🔊

New paper! We found, without knowing what a species sounds like, you can use audio data to predict its occurrence *really* accurately This approach worked for 34 avifaunal and herpetofaunal species, and performed better than LiDAR derived estimates onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Not a bad spot to give a talk ☀️ Had a blast applying nonlinear dynamical modelling to sound waves at the SUPER Doctoral Training Partnership workshop this week on Loch Lomond!

Excited to joining as acoustic technician for the SCANSIV survey heading off from Vigo this afternoon! We’ll be collecting visual, acoustic, and genetic data to monitor cetacean distribution in the Bay of Biscay 🐬 🐋 🔊 SUPER Doctoral Training Partnership

A week full of great people, handsome cetaceans, and abundant patatas 🌞 Big thanks to the European Cetacean Society for the opportunity to present my work and to everyone who helped out! 🐬🎧 #ECS2023
