We have a summer NSF REU spot for an undergrad to work w/ Kluane Red Squirrel Project and Ben Dantzer, Ph.D. on the behavior & physio of these very special small mammals. See ad below. Happy to answer any Qs, please share!

The gut-brain axis: not just for lab rodents! My first postdoc paper is now out in Scientific Reports. We find evidence of a robust gut-brain axis in wild North American red squirrels👇 rdcu.be/cG7L7 w/ Ben Dantzer, Ph.D., Andrew McAdam, Kluane Red Squirrel Project, + twitterless others

Can you tell the crew has been here for a while? Im sure the Kluane Red Squirrel Project alumni can relate!

Sad to learn that a good friend and neighbour of Kluane Red Squirrel Project Thomas Joe passed away in Nov 2020. He was one of the first people I met in Haines Junction and was always a kind and generous neighbour.

In a changing world, are animals picky about what ecological shifts they hormonally respond to? We (David Delaney Ben Dantzer, Ph.D. Andrew McAdam & more) address this question in our new paper out today in Hormones and Behavior Journal featuring Kluane Red Squirrel Project 👇 authors.elsevier.com/a/1fr58,QxXgi6W

Red squirrels in the Yukon are really good at timing things (such as when to breed or exiting the nest on the warmest part of the day in the winter) & the publication of this study using Kluane Red Squirrel Project data is also timely given it is #SquirrelAppreciationDay. Happy squirreling!

Our new #SCRIBE story, written and illustrated by Dr. Shelby Bohn, brings you closer to the world of Kluane Red Squirrel Project! Don't miss this piece on the research conducted by @webber_quinn Integrative Biology adr-cbs.uoguelph.ca/when-squirrels…

Congrats Quinn! Check out his work with us on Kluane Red Squirrel Project where he used social network analyses to examine plasticity in territory size and territory intrusion rates in NA red squirrels. besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…

Congrats to Alex Hare (he/him) for this award. Check out his recent paper on Kluane Red Squirrel Project about stress-mediated kin discrimination (or lack thereof). sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
