Congratulations to my former graduate student Chia-Hsuan (Shan) Wang on her thesis work just published in Current Biology sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Shan shows that place cells are sensitive to boundaries defined by surface textures that segment space.

How to revise: As an editor and author I have seen many revised papers return to journals. Given effort, most go well (ie step toward acceptance). Some go pear-shaped. I’ve slowly improved and have an approach known by my group as the ‘Breakspear method”. Here is its essence

Our Current Opinion in Neurobiology review with Heekyung Lee and Doug GoodSmith is out. Is proximal CA3 more associated with DG pattern separation processes than with distal CA3 pattern completion processes? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32502734/

Do you know the boundaries of region CA2 of the hippocampus? This current special issue of Hippocampus provides an excellent overview of this complex issue.
