Great job ladies !!

Today I had the honor of doing a video conference with some 17 year old students in Rheine Germany. Their teacher Karen Klaps was an SMCC exchange student from 1999 and she invited me to talk to them about the upcoming US election.

I highly recommend the book Lessons in History by Jeremy S Adams. He did a video call with my TLC class today and gave an inspired and passionate talk about the history of our nation. Jeremy is a history teacher in Bakersfield CA and author.

Great job SMCC TLC !!

I love it when SMCC alums come back to share with current students. Jeff Kessler (88) and his daughter Julia spoke to my TLC class today about accounting and walked them through filling out a 1040 return. Jeff is retired and Julia works for Barnes Wendling CPA s.

November 5 and six years clean to the day!!! Amanda Gerold (SMCC 98) shared her story of addiction and rehab with my TLC class today. She showed us courage and grace and answered every question! Thanks Amanda. We are so proud of you !!

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of singing the National anthem at the ladies and men’s basketball games at Ashland U vs Lake Erie. I really enjoyed it and AU won both games. Thanks to John Gale and Leighann Rotsinger for the video !!

After the APUSH still Learning !! Today Dr Stephen Knott American History Professor at Ashland U spoke to my class about the legacies of Presidents Carter and Reagan. I am very grateful these collegiate level instructors share their knowledge and expertise with my students.

Today my AP Govt students were treated to a virtual visit from Kari Pickens who is the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Ashland U. She talked about creating a safe team environment and eatablishing core values. Kari is not only an excellent coach but a great leader and person

My AP Govt class was visited by State Rep. DJ Swearingen (R,Ohio 89) today. He talked to us about his job as a public servant and we also discussed some key issues in the State of Ohio. He also brought along his daughter Mary Clare !!Thanks Mr Swearingen!!
