Kootenai County Sheriff's Office is participating in a DUI emphasis to make the end of the "Summer's 100 Deadliest Days of Driving". This time runs between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day Weekend. Additional DUI patrols will be on the streets beginning Aug. 16 thru Sept. 4.
A Frontier cable that feeds customers in the Medimont area has been cut. Technicians are on their way and their estimated time of repair is 4 pm today. Please note that cell phone coverage is limited in the area and customers may not be able to dial 911 in an emergency.
As most are already aware winter has arrived in the Inland Northwest. Couple things to keep in mind as you drive around during the winter months. Make sure all your windows are clear of snow and ice. It is a violation to have an obstructed view out your windows.
Make sure to give yourself more space/time to stop. Roads are becoming slick so you will need more distance to stop. Give yourself extra time to get to were you are going. The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office wants everyone to have a safe winter driving season.
