I’m lying on the sofa like a wreck watching Diogo Jota tributes on TV. My five year old daughter enters the room and asks what I’m watching. I try to explain. She says; is he your friend? I say; he felt like a friend. She gives me a hug and says; I love you, dad. I start to cry.

To my fellow LFC supporters and everyone; hug your loved ones, tell them you love them, cherish every second, embrace every moment - and try to get some well needed sleep. We stay strong together, as always - but it’ll be more tough days to come. Good night. YNWA ❤️

Woke up this morning dreading to open up social media, but I did - and I saw this. Now I’m crying again. Diogo 😭❤️

I went out for a walk this morning to clear my mind and reflect on life. It was a beautiful and peaceful morning with blue sky and sunshine. I sat down on a bench by the river and all I could think of was Diogo Jota, his brother and his family. I still can’t believe he’s gone.

Tributes have been laid at Anfield following the tragic passing of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.
