Good that someone dares to take action, but will this move from the EU be enough to radically change the business model of major journals? #PlanS #openaccess sciencebusiness.net/news/eu-and-na…

Curious about how stable carbenium ions are at high temperature and how this affects alkene cracking reactions in zeolites? Check out our latest paper in ACS Catalysis pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Congratulations to Veronique Van Speybroeck (Ghent University Research), recipient of the 2018 MCEC Lectureship Award. Pictures taken at Utrecht University during a symposium honoring Veronique for her contributions to the understanding of catalytic phenomena making use of theoretical methods.

Very excited about this excellent review on operando computational modeling in heterogeneous catalysis! Great job Evgeny Pidko ! pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Interesting nature study on what scientific authorship entails and the phenomenon of hyperprolific authors. In my opinion, author contributions should be more transparent and therefore clearly defined authorship criteria across journals and disciplines are needed.

We discovered that ethene dimerization in Ni-zeolites occurs on mobilized active sites, behaving like a balloon on a string. Very proud of this theory-experiment collaboration and my very first 'last author' paper. Ghent University Research ACS Catalysis pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102…

Just accepted ACS Catalysis. Aromatics and/or olefins from CO2 in one single reactor. Work from Adrian, @abhishekdc83, Abhay Dokania, Irina Yarulina and more ACM in collaboration with Kristof De Wispelaere, Veronique Van Speybroeck et al. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Repeat after me: #FOSSILFUELS /are not clean, burning them generates #CO2. Even if you try to capture the CO2, you need energy for it! That energy can't come from burning fuels because then again you will only be generating more CO2! Renewable energy is the only way to go!

Office cleaning day ... looks like I’ve been to a lot of conferences in the past 8 years. 👨🏼‍🔬 #phd #postdoclife

CO2 conversion is not easy ("a hard nut to crack"). Many options are on the table & should be explored. An article by Bastienne Wentzel in the June issue of C2W nicely summarizes the different catalytic approaches, taken by a.o. the universities of Delft, Amsterdam & Utrecht.
