Congrats Stas and Erin on their new chemistry that teaches us better and faster ways to build quantum well defect biosensors! Important for our cancer detection work and for the Nanocarbons community! pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…

Congrats to Alex. He shows in The Journal of Physical Chemistry how to incorporate two different types of quantum defects in Nanocarbons . It opens a new dimensions to tailor photophysics and surface chemistry. Solvation Science Ruhr-Universität Bochum tinyurl.com/4ruw3wc3

Jan's work on a spectral phasor approach for very fast and simple hyperspectral imaging (HyperNIR) is online. Advanced Portfolio News. It is an astonishing method and allows for example label-free imaging of different types of plastics or plant health. tinyurl.com/4epsba8e

Juliana's workflow to 3D print Nanocarbons is now published online in CARBON Trends. Very cool to illustrate their properties, biosensing as well as teaching basic concepts in physics/chemistry. Solvation Science Ruhr-Universität Bochum tinyurl.com/9fuxe5f2

Our new paper is out in Nature Communications. Traditional nanosensors struggled to operate on rough, dynamic surfaces, as no interfacial design existed. We engineered a bioinspired 3D interface with nIR SWCNTs that enables monitoring of ultralow-volume biofluids. rdcu.be/egxME

Our new paper published in Nanoscale journal family presents a paper-strip POC for uric acid monitoring in human urine, enabled by corona phase molecular recognition. Honored to have this work invited for the 2025 Nanoscale Emerging Investigator collection. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Excited about our chapter, now published in the Handbook on Carbon Nanomaterials! Congratulations Sara and yahya rabbani , and thank you to the editors Daniel Heller and Mijin Kim for the topical Nanocarbons collection Check out chapter 8😉 worldscientific.com/doi/abs/10.114…

Hyped to see this Nanocarbons work by Laurent Cognet CNRS 🌍, Jana Zaumseil Uni Heidelberg , and lab alum Benjamin Lambert on ultrashort and bright near-infrared nanotubes Next-level bio applications unlocked 🗝️ pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102…

The perfect message for the nanocarbons meeting. Nanocarbons Daniel Heller Gili Bisker Zvi Yaari Mijin Kim

I’m excited to share our latest preprint, led by Amelia Ryan! We showed the first true molecularly-specific multiplexed sensor using Nanocarbons and confirmed the long-held hypothesis that chirally pure SWCNT are better than bulk! We thank NIH funding! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We are looking for a motivated postdoc to join our lab as soon as possible. If you are interested in optical spectroscopy/microscopy, biosensing or nanomaterials please contact me. Please RT! Solvation Science Ruhr-Universität Bochum #academicjobs #postdoc

🚨 New patent! We’ve developed the first generalizable, automatable method to design optical sensors for any analyte—using unsupervised machine learning 🤖 To prove it: a DNA-based glucose sensor—the holy grail! 🏆 Huge congrats to yahya rabbani & team! 👏

Check out Jan's paper ACS Analytical Chemistry Journals. We developed a simulation to quantify the advantages of the near infrared and use the insights to create a diagnostic test/device for levodopa in blood serum for better Parkinson's treatment.
