Last week was a blast. It was a pleasure to organize the summer school course on ultrafast spectroscopy. Thanks once more to the lecturers, Eric Vauthey and Jens Uhlig as well as all participants. Nikolai was my supervisor, mentor and a friend for over 15 years. I would have not become a spectroscopist without his guidance. Last time we spoke in January, he was sharing details about his hobbies. So sad that he did not reach his retirement. He will be missed by many!
