Enjoyed engaged discussions with young officials at Osaka Customs about the future of Customs, following my visit to the bustling passenger and cargo sections at Kanasaki International Airport.

Spoke at the launching of my book,“World Customs Travelogue”, hosted by ⁦Asian Development Bank Institute⁩ in Tokyo. The dialogue session with Takehiko Nakao, former ADB President, was both inspiring and insightful, offering deep perspectives on global affairs and the future of Japan.

Gave a keynote speech on various Customs administrations in the world at the Japan Customs Brokers Association on 8 October, commemorating the “Day of Customs Brokers”. Enjoyed talking to colleagues from Japan Customs and the business sector.

Visited Kawasaki International Post office to meet with Customs officers handling small packages and to observe the application of AI in risk assessment. Later gave a lecture at Yokohama Customs on the evolution of WCO activities.

Talked at Osaka University. Enjoyed interactions with students interested in Customs, Trade and International Relations.

Gave a lecture at Nagoya University, sharing an insight on the evolving landscape of international trade and the critical role of Customs. Also engaged with the management team and personnel of Nagoya Customs. Glad to talk with young officers interested in Customs cooperation.

Visited Kobe Customs, enjoyed discussion with young Customs officers about the future of Customs. It was a pleasure giving a lecture to international students at University of Hyogo on connecting the world through trade.

45 years ago, as the then-Prince prepared to study abroad, I had the honor of being invited to share my own experience with him. Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting His Majesty the Emperor again at his garden party—we spoke about the WCO and recalled our early conversation.

Spoke at the FFFAI - INDIA Global Logistics Conference in Goa, India. Witnessed the dynamic energy of the customs brokers and freight forwarders community and their vital role in connecting South Asia to global trade.

Enjoyed interaction with students at ⁦⁦横浜市立大学⁩ University. They were anxious to discuss the changing landscape of international trade and how best to remain connected at borders through strategic partnerships.
