This is ACE! I always try and co-review with a student where possible: I’ll email the editor first to check it’s ok and make sure the student gets full credit. It’s great to see this adopted formally - hope more journals follow!

ā€œI buried my feminine intelligence alive in order to surviveā€ Being a woman in Hollywood and being a woman in STEM are shockingly similar. We’re told the way to succeed is to act more like men, but what if the real path to success is embracing who we are? nytimes.com/2020/02/07/opi…

"On average, academics work 51 hours per week ... Assuming a normal working week of 35 hours, that’s 16 hours per week extra, unpaid labour, or ... 119 extra days per year. Universities ... run on the basis of this unpaid labour; they would swiftly collapse if it was withdrawn."

My PhD training has taught me how to tackle a problem that no one has ever faced before, independently seek out the appropriate resources/mentors, and craft a novel and effective solution. If that isn't a marketable professional skill, I don't know what is. #AcademicTwitter

Finally some good news at a time where it feels my micro-analytical-focused PhD is grinding to a halt - my paper in crystal scavenging in Nature Communications is in the top 50 most read Earth and Planetary Science articles published in 2019! #NCOMTop50

Academic peeps: I've lived through many disasters. Here is my advice on "productivity". First, play the long game. Your peers who are trying to work as normal right now are going to burn out fast. They're doomed. Make a plan with a longer vision. /1

Just took part in my first zoom online yoga class! What an amazing world we live in... that we are able to connect with people in times when we should keep our distance.
