unfortunate startup pivots. a short list. recently I've been working with startups via SPEEDRUN, our program to invest $750k each into preseed/seed startups (btw, 13 more days to apply to SR4 in SF!) and the topic of pivoting often comes up. Some thoughts on what doesn't work:

Just upgraded to iOS18, the features are getting so complicated. I wonder if there are stats of how many features a normal person actually uses.

There’s an Chinese saying “求其上者得其中，求其中者得其下，求其下者无所得”, basically means people who overdo it get good outcome, those who just do it get mediocre outcome, and those who under-do it get nothing.

Simplicity is so important on multiple levels. For one thing, simplifying a project allows teams to execute with better focus and higher velocity.

How should applications adapt to be used by both human and LLMs? llms.txt (llmstxt.org) seems to be a good start.
