I always say it's a waste to reinvent the wheel, so share your talents with existing fights first. However, if those parties discriminate, you have every right to look for another fight or start a fairer one of your own, or spend time building up more knowledge first. #boostyouth

History has many ex of cross-generational changemaking. In the U.S., the Civil Rights Movement relied on both the wisdom and leadership of seasoned advocates (e.g. Rosa Parks) and students (e.g. Greensboro Sit-In) alike. Together we can do more for longer. #boostyouth #IYD2022

1) Make it clear in your comms (website, social, etc.) that you welcome intergenerational participation and have your leadership/advisory teams' composition reflect that. 2) ally with other orgs focusing on demographics you don't cover. #boostyouth #IYD2022 #DianaAwardRecipient

Older gens have accumulated knowledge - ask (questions). Accumulated wealth - ask (for $ support - don't need to be $ donations - advice on saving/raising $ too!). Accumulated expertise - ask (for volunteer/consulting help). Also: be respectful of their time!#boostyouth #IYD2022

Tech, social norms, & top causes change v quickly. Young folks help contextualize these topics & make more appropriate allocations of resources. Those who haven't yet found boundary lines draw their own. To break down old walls, ask those who haven't noticed them yet. #boostyouth

Imposter syndrome affects ALL people, so your age is not a defining factor (even tho it can feel like it!). Those folks have their own insecurities too - we're all human. Focus on the cause & let that drive you when you might feel frozen.#boostyouth #IYD2022 #DianaAwardRecipient

Make apps & hubs of funding sources more accessible (social media ads/partners, simpler sites/processes, SHORTER q's since most of those 10+page apps aren't being read in full anyway!) - time & know-how are both limited; don't force paper-mail app practices onto today.#boostyouth
