Locally, only 6 petitions were filed to CARE Court in it’s first week. The program brings court-ordered treatment to some with serious mental illnesses. It was actually the highest total of the seven counties helping get the new court off the ground.

Big news — looks like the city of San Diego will be considering the appointment of Paul Parker, the (very recent) former executive director of CLERB, the oversight body that monitors the Sheriff’s Department, to run the city’s Commission on Police Practices. More to come.
