Our “Art & Well-being” PD series has been a hit this year. The goal: Art-making for teachers’ own enjoyment. Tonight was the first of 2 sessions working with clay, led by Rogers MS Art teacher Erin Brady. Participants come back next week to glaze their fired clay pieces.

So excited to meet all our new VAPA teachers (including these newly hired Music teachers) at this week’s New Teacher Institute! We’re also welcoming a record number of new Art, Dance & Theater teachers. Looking forward to a year filled with joyful arts learning!

This is the 2nd year 11th grader Arthur from Lakewood HS has won this contest for the 42nd congressional district! He also was a winner at this year’s JCC Gottlieb Art Show and selected for the Long Beach Museum of Art HS exhibition. This talented student artist is going places!
