Congratulations to LDM research assistants, Riya and Nalinda, who have been named two of the Dean's Undergraduate Research Fund's research scholars! They have been recognized for the strength and impact of their Honors Projects and we are honored to have them in the lab.

This week, the LDM celebrated the end of the fall semester with delicious cake pops to go along with an inspiring lab meeting by our PI, Dr. Moira Dillon! As the semester ends, we want to thank our wonderful RAs for their hard work and wish them good luck on their finals! 📝🤓

First up in our "Research Assistant Spotlight Series" , we have Kaylee! Kaylee is a Freshman double majoring in Applied Psychology and Education. Kaylee is interested in learning how we can use cognition research to improve educational resources for underrepresented learners.

On this day of love and appreciation, we would like to express our gratitude for our amazing and supportive LDM community of families and researchers! We hope everyone has a fun and festive Valentine's Day 💌

This Saturday and Sunday, the LDM team will be at the National Museum of Mathematics from 10 am-5 pm! MoMath will also be offering free admission to the museum on Sunday from 10am-1pm! We will have games for 3, 5, and 6-year-old child scientists. We hope to see you there! 👏🧠

Next up in our "Research Assistant Spotlight Series", we have Keyin! Keyin is a Senior, majoring in psychology and minoring in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. She is particularly interested in the work our lab is doing on how infants navigate social environments!

Last Friday, 3/14, we celebrated our love for math and learning with, of course—pie! Our research explores how children understand geometry, shapes, patterns and spaces, all of which are key to mathematic reasoning. What better way to honor π than with some delicious treats?

The LDM is excited to announce that grad student, Mohit Mukherji, has had both a paper and a talk accepted for this year's meeting of the Cognitive Science Society! Mohit will be speaking about his PhD work on the different biases that shape adult word extension.

A big congratulations to LDM grad student, Shannon, who will be spending July at the Diverse Intelligences Summer Institute in St Andrews, Scotland! The program brings together scholars from a range of backgrounds to tackle questions about intelligence, mind and cognition.
