The late Prof Sir James Dunbar-Nasmith made this remark at a conference organised by Cockburn Association (The Edinburgh Civic Trust) in 1974 to find a conservation solution for the numbers of churches in Edinburgh that were then closing. It was recorded for posterity in a Cockburn Association (The Edinburgh Civic Trust) newsletter in Oct 1974. 👇
