Our study is part of a growing body of evidence on insulin OOP caps. Our findings are consistent with research from Laura Garabedian et al that find state caps implemented in Jan. 2021 did not significantly increase insulin utilization for United enrollees. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38527286/

We suggest STRATEGIES that payers can take to improve care after adverse pregnancy outcomes. Policies to increase postpartum health insurance COVERAGE are important, but likely not sufficient. We can leverage payers’ unique vantage point in our health system to improve outcomes.

Patients benefit from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, which helps to reduce medical errors, protect patient safety, and make care more affordable. I joined Richard Blumenthal and Rep. Don Beyer in sending a message to Trump and DOGE last week: hands off AHRQ!
