Nationally decisions have been made rolling back health protections for LGBTQ+ youth. But here in Delaware, we remain committed to equality. This was clear, as Gov. @MattMeyer signed an Executive Order shielding gender-affirming care, protecting both patients & providers.

The Delaware Business Roundtable convened the First State’s top business leaders to discuss the intersection between economic and education policy yesterday. This event served as a powerful opportunity to emphasize the value of investing in our early education workforce.

Yesterday, the Behavioral Health Consortium held its June meeting. We reflected on successful listening sessions and heard from new working groups tackling Delaware’s behavioral health challenges. Grateful to BHC members for their trust and commitment to this work.

Just days after the Dobbs anniversary, the Supreme Court has further threatened reproductive health—ruling against Planned Parenthood and putting care out of reach for so many. I stand with Planned Parenthood, our providers, and every advocate as we keep fighting for reproductive freedom.

My first legislative session presiding over the Senate as Lieutenant Governor came to a close yesterday — and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Though session has ended, my goal remains the same: to serve as a bridge between communities and government.

Simply put, this is cruel. But in Delaware, we lead differently.

Proud to be named Chair of the Interagency Resource Management Committee (IRMC) with the signing of SB 153 by Gov. Governor Matt Meyer. This role is an opportunity to drive bold, collaborative action to strengthen early childhood education across our state to support kids & families.

The passage of this budget bill will have devastating and far-reaching effects, but I will not be discouraged. Instead, I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

Every inch of our state is special because of Delawarean’s dedication to invest back into their community. This was clear during my visit throughout the Town of Smyrna last week. Each stop was an exciting reminder on how much opportunity is here in the First State.

Delaware demonstrated our commitment to building trust with every community through the signing of a set of bills that enhance the safety of all Delawareans regardless of their background. Here in the First State, we will continue to lead differently, guided by compassion.

I was honored to join the celebration of One Village Alliance 15 years of service & ribbon-cutting for their new OVA Freedom Center. It is these bold community initiatives that should inspire us all to work harder towards a future where all our neighbors can thrive.
