It was an enormous privilege to be part of the the rededication Ceremony of the George Washington Statue in Trafalgar Square yesterday. The statue was first unveiled in 1921 and has now been restored. I hope everyone can now enjoy Washington's statue for many years to come! 🇬🇧🇺🇸

Yesterday I was lucky enough to meet some of the inspirational members of the Westminster Adult Education Service independent pathway programme and hand out their certificates. Good luck to everyone and I look forward to seeing you all progress in the next steps of your career!

Ahead of #ArmedForcesDay tomorrow, we raised the Armed Forces flag to honour the dedication and sacrifice of all who have served- past and present. Westminster City Council has strong links to the armed forces as home to key military buildings & signatories of The Armed Forces Covenant.

A wonderful day at Westminster Abbey celebrating the annual Civic Service and historic between Westminster Abbey and the council. It was lovely to see so many people in attendance who have made my career as a councillor so memorable!

On this 20th Anniversary of 7/7, we remember the 52 lives lost and the hundreds injured in an act of terror that struck at the heart of our city. I will be at St Paul’s, to represent Westminster and honour their memory as well as the remarkable courage of those who responded
