Congratulations to Dr. Steven Hahn Fred Hutch Cancer Center Hutch Basic Sciences & affiliate faculty UW Biochemistry on being named a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology at the ASM His lab studies the machinery of gene transcription bit.ly/3BvCfXU

I am happy to share our new preprint reporting a role for the nuclear pore complex in regulating PCNA levels on chromatin. Seattle Children's Fred D. Mast John Aitchison biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Final form of the preprint👇now out in Science Advances. Please read! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Our recent work on Mediator recruitment is out Molecular Cell !! sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Congratulations Rafal Donczew, Linda, Steve!!

Excited to see my final PhD work published Nature Genetics (rdcu.be/c02lQ)! How does DNA methylation repress genes? Through direct inhibition of transcription factor (TF) binding at the motif OR indirect inhibition via sequence-independent recruitment of MBD proteins? 1/6

Our paper on RNAPII-BAF-TF synergy is now out in Nature Genetics! Since publishing the preprint (🧵➡️ tinyurl.com/36jtfraj), we added expt to show that enhanced nucleosome eviction upon stabilization of BAF by RNAPII, assayed by CUT&RUN.ChIP, is ATP-dep. ➡️rdcu.be/dsJPk

Honored to see our work highlighted by Fred Hutch Cancer Center and Hutch Basic Sciences. In this study, We mapped the binding and regulatory targets of nearly all yeast transcription factors and found that the classic model often doesn’t hold. Check out the paper here nature.com/articles/s4158…

🧬 Surprising findings from the Hahn Lab at Fred Hutch Cancer Center! Dr. Lakshmi Mahendrawada’s new study shows yeast transcription factors have far less binding overlap than expected—challenging assumptions in #GeneRegulation. 📰 bit.ly/4ipY9Qg 📖 nature: go.nature.com/42zR1wd
