It was a great and very successful first day as the Falls Awareness Week kicked off at Ealing Hospital with a large turn out of visitors, patients at stalls which were manned by Dieticians, Therapists, Nurses, and the Manual Handling Advisor.

Musicians from @SpitzMusic helped raise awareness (and the roof) of Ealing Hospital when they played for patients and staff as part of #DementiaAwarenessWeek. The group regularly play at care homes and hospital wards to entertain patients. We love it when they visit.🎸

The happiness programme is a new technology in dementia care we launched for #DementiaAwarenessWeek. The interactive light games are really good for people with dementia, it provides patients with physical, cognitive and social stimulation. social-ability.co.uk

Last week London North West University Healthcare hosted TWO parties for the launch of the #HappinessProgramme at the NHS Trust, in honour of #DementiaAwarenessWeek. It was incredible to see the people they support enjoying the variety of games & activities available!

We will soon be implementing our ‘Think Yellow’ initiative for patients at risk of falling, replacing the current orange falls wristbands with yellow wristbands so staff can identify them.

Thank you to Northwick Park League of Friends who raised more than £1,800 for two scoop stretchers to move patients who have fallen and may have a suspected fracture or spinal injury.
