From GED classes to CTE programming, District 79 programs offer alternatives to students facing life circumstances that may not align with a traditional education model. The district is comprised of 10 programs across 375+ sites citywide reaching 50,000+ students a year!

On February 26th, Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos along with NYC Schools Leadership visited the LYFE Program at Bronx Regional High School. Principal Williams showcased the impactful work being done with infants & toddlers. The visit also celebrated the collaboration with the Montefiore Clinic.

Last Saturday LYFE kicked off our Saturday Internship Program! Selected students are diving into videography, web development, & music production over 5 sessions, learning skills for a hobby or career. It’s an amazing opportunity for our student parents! Week 2 was a blast!

For the first time ever, the LYFE Program offered paid internships to our student parents! Over 5 weeks, they gained hands-on experience in music development, videography, & web development—building real-world skills that will last a lifetime.
