Breaking: I have been told that LA Tech Sports is believed to have the votes to join the Sun Belt conference. A vote could be scheduled for the beginning of next week I’ve been told.

Sun Belt presidents are scheduled to meet Monday when they are expected to vote on extending an invitation to Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs would need 10 of 13 remaining schools to vote yes to receive an invitation.

The Sun Belt CEOs plan to meet on Monday and hold a vote to invite Louisiana Tech to the league, sources confirm to ESPN. Tech has been the favorite to be added to the league, and there’s continued momentum for the addition. Daily News-Record Sports first reported the meeting.

It would require a "super majority" of 10 of the 13 Sun Belt schools to vote yes. There’s long been support by the Sun Belt’s Western schools, which favor Louisiana Tech for geographic purposes.
