Using an environment-senstive dye we non-invasivelly probe the coating of DNA origami nanostructures by either cationic polymer or silica, study the kinetics and reversibility of the coating processes, as well as the stability of coated structures under degrading conditions

To showcase the potential for correlative studies, we also combine the sensor with DNA-PAINT superresolution imaging to simultaneously probe coating, structural integrity, as well as preserved addressability of DNA nanostructures
