“Most critically, however, we should anticipate the possibility that the virus will spread through Africa, where a vaccination campaign that had barely started is now endangered by the situation in India, which stopped exporting vaccines many countries were relying on.”

Climate change is no more some projected remote event occurring in uncertain distant future. It is right here, even in Southern Volta. The only difference is it will get worse. We need both adaptation (sea defence walls to keep the waves at bay) and mitigation measures.

A nun - one sister Mary - just reached out because she heard I could get her 500 gallons of organic Greek olive oil by next Monday, which she needs ASAP for her monasteries in WI, PA and NY. Beat that ‘supply chain bottleneck’ story.

The US academic market for economists seems quite weak to me this year, with pretty limited demand from many universities and colleges. If you are a job market candidate sitting on a small number of interviews so far, I think it’s fair to say, “it’s not you, it’s us.”
