I've known Lαmmis J. Vαrgαs for most of my life. She is experienced, dedicated to public service, and talented, and she's going to be a great State Senator for Cranston, Providence, and all Rhode Islanders.

RI District 28 Senator-Elect Lαmmis J. Vαrgαs’s victory statement. She won a five-candidate Democratic primary in September to succeed outgoing state Sen. Joshua Miller. Had no general election opponent.

Today we welcomed newly elected legislators Rep. Jenni Furtado, Sen. Pete Appollonio, & Sen. Lαmmis J. Vαrgαs for a tour of our facility. We’re excited to work together to address hunger in RI & grateful for their interest in learning more about our mission. Thank you for visiting!

EVERYONE deserves clean drinking water🚰 This is why Childhood Lead Action Project, Providence City Council President Miller, Sen. Lαmmis J. Vαrgαs, and I have introduced a bill that would allow cities to pass laws that allow tenants to request the replacement of lead pipes in their homes!

Humbled to partner with Rep. RI State Rep. David Morales 🌹 on this Boston Globe Rhode Island op-ed outlining H.5744/S.785 and its impact on our students. Big thanks to the #CoalitionForAMultilingualRI for your tireless advocacy for bilingual & dual language teacher certs in urban schools.

🎉The RI General Assembly passed legislation sponsored by Lαmmis J. Vαrgαs & Rep. Noret that modernizes the state’s unclaimed property law to recover additional intangible assets on behalf of residents, allowing Treasury to continue its progress in reuniting you with your property!
