Today 173 years ago Lanark Golf Club was formed originally as the Lanark Golfing Society by William Lithgow, Robert Lithgow (Captain), John Vassie (Treasurer), David Stoddart (Secretary), Jas Johnston, Charle McGibbon and Thos Purdie.

Happy 155th birthday to five time Open Champion and one of the world’s great golf architects James Braid. In 1927 Braid was invited to Lanark to oversee several new holes which produced the layout we play today.
