Following a report of a possible drink driver in the Lancaster area this Ford Transit was stopped at junction 33 M6 southbound. The driver provided a roadside breath test 3x the legal limit and was arrested, the van was recovered. #T2RPU. #HT51. #MN31.

This week RPU, CVU and Rural Task Force officers participated in a DVSA Enforcement checksite at Farington. Of 105 vehicles inspected, 51 were overweight or had serious mechanical defects. The officers are now trained to prohibit vehicles found to be in a dangerous condition.

This van was reported for weaving on the M6 and M61 motorway. Patrols made to the M61 just before it collided with a skip wagon and then failed to stop at the accident. The vehicle was stopped and driver arrested after providing alcohol reading more than twice the limit. #T5RPU

The driver of this BMW overtook an unmarked traffic car on the M6 north at Garstang and was paced at 121mph. Upon stopping the car and speaking with the driver it became clear that they were under the influence of alcohol. Driver arrested and BMW recovered.
