As the climate change induced drought hits Zimbabwe hard & water bodies drying up, women in Shurugwi are being forced fetching water from springs. The water is under threat from possible contamination due to alluvial mining activities tacking place upstream.

Farmers in Shurugwi district's Ward 5 held a Farmer Field School where they shared farming experiences under the prevailing harsh climate conditions caused by climate change. The event was organised by Agritex officers who sourced funding for prizes from various stakeholders.
