Thinking about doing a postdoc? Wondering what we do all day?? Christoph Ziegenhain @sofiavanmoorsel and I tracked over 19 months (!) of work & compared it to our junior postdoc data from 6 yrs ago - check out our article! #AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter #phdchat elisagranato.com/days-in-the-li…

Excited to share our publication on Salmonella Agona's persistence tactics with Langridge Lab & Marie Anne Chattaway! journals.plos.org/plospathogens/… Huge thanks to Gemma Langridge, Marie Anne Chattaway & Emma Waters for the opportunity to be involved and learn all things Nanopore! 🤗

It's that time of year! Meeting the latest cohort of Microbes, Microbiomes and Bioinformatics DTP students & teaching them #comparativegenomics Day 1: mapping & #variant calling. Gemma Langridge taught us valuable lessons (sanity checking your data) & Ella Rodwell showed the large scale genomics performed UK Health Security Agency

Langridge Lab The things I do for you guys! But at least found 1/3 of the people the group follows...

Day 3 of #comparativegenomics Microbes, Microbiomes and Bioinformatics DTP week & Gemma Langridge taught us genome rearrangements are another #variation to watch for in #bacterial #genomics. Looks like all enjoyed getting involved. Over to Eleanor Hayles & Alice Nisbet to lead your activity! Will Em wear a Xmas jumper?

Who else is excited to hear what our Emma Waters.bsky.social has planned for #WhatIsAScientist? Not even a hint? 🙄 she is such a tease

In the final day of Microbes, Microbiomes and Bioinformatics DTP #comparativegenomics week, Eleanor Hayles & Alice Nisbet led an outbreak investigation with the students using what they had learnt this week to find out what was behind our simulated outbreak! Prime mister Keir Starmer even made a surprise appearance 😮

As we wrap up for a well deserved festive break, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas from all of us in the Langridge lab + friends We look forward to sharing more of our exciting science happening Quadram Institute with you all next year... 2025 is gonna be our year!
