I'm not sure I've ever seen a company owner destroy a product's basic functionality as quickly as Musk has done with Twitter. I find it borderline useless as a fast news service these days and my feed is full of tweets from people I don't follow.

Yes, and the long cycle of Dems bailing out GOP recklessness arguably made the bomb-throwing worse over time. With rescue guaranteed, GOP no longer felt responsibility to govern - just to placate their extremist wing and internal politics. Sometimes the adults need to say “no.”

Great historical excavation here by Lawrence Glickman. I didn’t know this, and, if its possible, it actually makes Scalise look *worse* than if he had coined the phrase “David Duke without the baggage” himself. Scalise viewed himself as a *mass produced* racial nationalist.

“David Duke without the baggage.” People like Steve Scalise know exactly what they’re conveying. This reprehensible phrase has deep political roots, as noted here, and its continued usage is deeply telling. It says nothing good; after all, the missing “baggage” is KKK membership.
