A great few days sampling at Cors Fochno. 16 pools samples for GHG emissions. Such a beautiful site, probably one of my favorites so far! #PeatTwitter livunigeog

30 bog pools sampled for GHGs + water chemistry at Risley Moss today with Laura Baugh and dissertation student Hana. Autumn colours looking good, but tough going bashing through the end-of-summer vegetation. #PeatTwitter livunigeog

Great few days at Risley Moss (even if we did get drenched today!). Overall sampled 40 waterbodies for GHGs which will go towards Hana’s undergraduate dissertation. Big thanks to Mike Peacock for navigating the last of the summer vegetation! #PeatTwitter livunigeog

On the Manchester Mosses with Teresa Silverthorn & Laura Baugh for a masterclass in peat coring by Rich Chiverrell. Two ex-croplands (now grasslands) with raised water tables successfully cored for our LP3+ project. #PeatTwitter

Successful first day of radio carbon sampling up on the Migneint. Aiming to get dates for GHG’s of both diffusive and ebullition pathways. Hopefully the equipment survives the first 48hrs! #PeatTwitter livunigeog

Out at Risley Moss with our livunigeog MSc students today to learn about peatland restoration and biogeochemistry. Taking cores with Rich Chiverrell and water chem sampling with Laura Baugh.

Excellent news to end the year. New small project funded with Laura Baugh, Teresa Silverthorn & Gustaf Granath: "Measuring the true climate effect of peatland rewetting." The money will fund a three week summer campaign, measuring aquatic GHGs in Swedish peatlands. #PeatTwitter

Joined by @eryrinpa to help Laura Baugh with her fieldwork on the Migneint blanket bog in North Wales today. A cold and windy day for some pool GHG work. Let's hope the chambers survive the night. #PeatTwitter

livunigeog Teresa Silverthorn Then on Wednesday, 16:15–18:00, Hall X1 (X1.17), Laura Baugh will have a poster about her ongoing PhD research about bog pools in rewetted peatlands, GHGs and radiocarbon. meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU25/EGU25-12…

At Risley Moss today watching Freddie Draper do some drone flights for Laura Baugh's PhD research. Hoping the images collected will allow us to calculate how much of the bog is comprised of pools and allow us to upscale GHG emissions. #PeatTwitter

Great morning with the drone at Risley Moss. Hoping the images captured can be used to work out the total area of water across the sites and used to upscale GHG emissions. Thanks to @fdraper for bringing his drone out to capture this data! Mike Peacock livunigeog

Had a great day today at EGU for ‘The future of Northern peatlands’ poster session were I presented the first of my PhD work. Thank you to everyone who came along to chat/see my poster (and for inspiring new ideas!) Mike Peacock livunigeog

Incredible images from Freddie Draper's drone flying. Here's a lovely view of Sphagnum recolonising the recently rewetted "Mini Moss" site. #PeatTwitter

Successful morning at Greylake Somerset, sampling GHG emissions from a range of water bodies. livunigeog

Sampling some epic ditches today for GHG emissions at Honeygar farm in Somerset. livunigeog

GHG sampling earlier this week at Westhay Moore, Somerset at some of the newer restoration areas. We even found some Sundew on site livunigeog
