Due to a propane tank explosion, Main Street is currently closed. Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Emergency services are on scene to treat anyone who may have been injured. Additionally, the Main Street Parade has been cancelled. Updates to follow.

The City of Laurel regrets to announce the cancellation of the Mainstreet Festival Parade scheduled for today due to a propane explosion at the intersection of 4th and Main Streets. The explosion, which occurred during vendor setup, has been contained. 1/3

Update regarding Main Street Festival

Approx 7:12am PGFD units were dispatched to the 500 block of Main St in Laurel for an outside fire. Initial report is that a food truck propane tank exploded. Fire is out. 1 adult male transported with serious but not life threatening injuries. Fire investigators on scene.

Community Update from the Laurel Police Department

We are serving a search warrant in the area of Scott Adam Court, within the Summerlyn Apartment Complex. While there is no threat to the surrounding community, we ask residents and visitors to avoid the area if possible, to allow officers to work safely and efficiently.
