Father’s Day holds so much—joy, gratitude, grief, longing. For those celebrating, remembering, missing, or healing today… I see you. However today feels, it matters. 🤍 Happy Father’s Day to all who play a part!

This week marks the start of our four-day summer schedule—and with it, a quiet week for school leaders. We’re encouraging everyone to use this time to pause, reflect, and reset. Each day, we’ll share a thought to guide your leadership in the stillness. Here’s today’s! 🤍

If someone followed you around for a week—watched what you did, what you said yes to, what you avoided, how you spent your quiet moments, what would they think matters most to you? Would they see your values? Your priorities? Or would they see distraction, obligation, survival?

As leaders, we often wait for summer, a holiday, or some imaginary “later” to slow down and refill our own cups. But joy can’t be seasonal. And if we only let ourselves reach for it when things are quiet, we’ll burn out before we ever get there. So take the walk. Make the plans.

Short weeks don’t mean less to do. They just mean less time to do it. Progress doesn’t always show up in big wins. It’s in the steady presence, the small decisions, and the quiet resilience. So, if all you do this week is keep things moving and keep showing up, you’re doing well.

I have always loved a good play with words and this is one of my new faves! Time’s moving fast, hit as a leader you are somehow relaxing and rebuilding at the same time. It’s a skill. It’s a season. It’s leadership. Happy July!
