Celebrating #EmmaRaducanu’s #USOpen win 🎾 Did you know Harry Gem and Augurio Perera founded the world’s first lawn tennis club on Avenue Road in Leamington in 1874, three years before the Wimbledon championships started? For many years tennis was played in Jephson Gardens!

#askacurator Q: When nobody is looking, do you touch the art? A: Yes! We have to, when we’re changing the displays. It’s one of the best parts of the job but also sometimes very scary, when you’re handling something really fragile. - Lily

#askacurator Q: Where do you keep all the things not on display? A: Almost all our collections are stored on-site at the Royal Pump Rooms. During the pandemic I have been reorganising the ceramics store, so now it’s much easier to find the items we need for displays. - Lily

💐 Another curators collection highlight! 💐 This figurine is of Pomona, she was the Roman goddess of fruit trees, gardens and orchards. This ceramic figurine was made in Staffordshire in about 1800 and shows her holding a cornucopia filled with summer fruits. #curatorschoice

🐦 Today's Curators Collection Highlight! 🐦 Is the charming bird perched in this oak tree a bullfinch? The jug was given to LSAG&M by Francis Jahn in memory of his sister Henrietta, who collected traditional lustre pottery. #curatorschoice
