With ongoing hostilities along the Blue Line, the members of the #SecurityCouncil expressed their strong concerns after several UNIFIL positions came under fire in the past days. They urged all parties to respect the safety and security of UNIFIL personnel & UN premises.

Attacks against United Nations peacekeepers are completely unacceptable. They are in breach of international law and may constitute a war crime. Despite all the challenges, UNIFIL remains in its positions on the Blue Line in Lebanon - and on the front line of peace.

Lebanese delegation at the UN voicing condemnation of the Israeli aggression against our land and people and calling for an immediate ceasefire and for accountability.

Peacekeepers remain in all positions in south Lebanon, despite enormous challenges and pressures. Yesterday, I visited peacekeepers in two Irish positions, which have seen intense fighting nearby. I am deeply proud of their high morale and commitment to UNIFIL’s mandate.
