Thank you Lee Barron & team for the #SEND Roundtable in Parliament today - a great opportunity for practitioners, parents, LA colleagues representing Corby & East Northamptonshire to discuss solutions for improving the SEND system for children, young people and their families

I know from meeting 16 & 17 years olds in Corby and East Northamptonshire how switched on they are about political issues that impact them now and in the future. I am proud that we are widening the franchise and empowering young people to have their say.

On Monday, I hosted the second Corby and East Northamptonshire special educational needs roundtable, and on Tuesday we had SENDS 4 Dad in Parliament.  Here’s my contribution in UK Parliament following that round table meeting.

I am calling on the Government to act following the ICJ Advisory Opinion and impose sanctions on Israel. We have rightly imposed widespread sanctions on Russia for its illegal war on Ukraine. We now need to do the same in our response to Israel’s actions on Gaza.

I was really pleased to call in and meet residents and staff of Priors Hall Care Home and join them in enjoying their summer fayre. Priors Hall is a modern residential care home providing both luxurious and comfortable facilities and is set in private landscaped gardens.

I am deeply concerned to learn that up to 200 employees at a Corby food distribution depot have been informed that the site could shut next year. I’m in correspondence with the company. I’ll do all I can to save jobs where we can.
