Amazon is testing a new “AI English Dub” feature for anime and it’s genuinely fucking putrid and insanely disrespectful to actual human actors who put their life and soul into both the Dubs and Subs of these shows Fuck you Prime Video Amazon

Even if the Banana Fish ai dub was seamless and perfect, it would still be awful because of the impact it would make on my industry and the hard working people in it. But to no one’s surprise, it’s the most disjointed slop imaginable. You really shit the bed on this one, Amazon.

Reminder that this doesn’t *just* suck because it sounds bad. AI will probably reach a point where it can imitate human performances. But that’s all it does. It imitates. It’ll never be able to breathe life into a character like a real human can, even if it “sounds” good
