Today is #WhiteRibbon Day and a reminder of the collective responsibility we have to tackle all forms of violence against women and girls. We must raise awareness of the many forms this takes and of the support available for those experiencing it. #itstartswithmen

We’re proud to partner with Metro on the This Is Not Right campaign. Violence against women is an epidemic: over 100 women in the UK are killed by men yearly, yet awareness remains low. This campaign will educate, engage & empower change. Learn more metro.co.uk/2024/11/25/int…

We were at the UEA yesterday to mark #WhiteRibbonDay🤍 Joining us on the day were a variety of organisations and charities that work to support people who are experiencing domestic or sexual abuse, many of which are commissioned by the OPCCN.

Today's perceived drop in domestic abuse crimes reflects fewer crimes recorded, not fewer crimes happening. This follows police being instructed to count fewer DA crimes. That's why this data doesn't reflect the prevalence of DA, nor the number of DA crimes reported to police.

In today's debate on Violence against Women I outlined the importance of supporting organisations like Leeway in Norwich who help victims of domestic abuse. I addressed issues in our judicial system, our approach to misogyny at its source and raised the international context.

We are pleased to support NIDAS's campaign raising awareness of stalking and harassment. Please share to help us to spread this important message and raise awareness of these behaviours, as well as highlighting the support that is available for those experiencing it.

Online stalking and harassment is when someone ‘monitors, stalks, harasses, threatens, controls or impersonates another person using the internet or other technology’. If this feels familiar, speak to NIDAS. nidasnorfolk.co.uk/how-do-you-kno…
