When Angus Donald heard about an English Templar who had joined the 13th-century Mongol invaders of Europe, he knew it was the perfect story for a historical novel. It became his new book, Templar Traitor. Read what he discovered: historiamag.com/englishman-gen… Angus Donald Canelo

The Gaza Famine is the world’s famine. A preventable, predictable famine. Enough. Ceasefire. Open all crossings, north and south. Let us get food in, unimpeded and at massive scale.

I wonder if the day after the liberation of Auschwitz with its chimneys still smoking, the mainstream media would've published Goebbels' official press release denying the existence of death camps, all in the name of so-called "balanced reporting". They would today! Disgrace.

Nobody is trying to take away your flag, or your fried breakfast. But the people telling you this do want to lower your wages, take away your work rights, make you work till your 70+ and privatise your NHS. It’s business for them, & they are using your anger to maximise profits

After a few months' long hiatus, today I've written the first 250 words of my new speculative sci-fi story with a working title "The Sea Age", and this crops up on my timeline. How propitious. Another thought: if we can't be bothered to save our own species, let's save the seas.

When we played Cowboys and Indians, I was always an Indian. Boys played cowboys and they carried toy guns. My arrows were real and had sharp heads. I made them myself.

Ok, in Ep 2 things became clearer plot-wise, the family dynamic was shown more & as I suspected, 'Æthel' was actually Alfred. But I was asked to review Ep 1 alone, so I stand by my comments 😊. (P.s. there's a typo - read 'perpetuating' for 'perpetrating') historiamag.com/review-king-co…

Writing today is like getting blood from a stone. I've got the whole book in my head. I need someone to invent an extraction device.
