Following our application to the High Court seeking revision of bail for the 42 accused persons in Thika, Justice Muchemi has today issued an order revising the amount from Kshs. 100K to Kshs. 30K. This is justice. This is sobriety. This is a win for the Kenyan people. Viva! ✊🏽

We’ve said this before and we’ll keep saying it, contempt is personal. The ODCI will push its officers to disobey court orders, but the consequences are individual. And to prove it, two officers have been cited and will appear before court on the same tomorrow. It will rain ☔️

New developments; Hon. Koech this morning issued a ruling in which he released each of the 8 accused persons on bail of Kshs. 50,000 or bond of Kshs. 200,000 with two sureties. Given that the accused persons are of low means, we shall be filing for revision at the HighCourt.

Having argued against the DCI’s application for custodial orders in the CopShakur & Osoi matter, I can confidently tell you that the State has nothing on them. All those terror allegations are hollow. KK is mostly threatened by their ex-military status & the skills they have.

Fighting Brutality and Impunity is not a crime. Even Ruto is claiming to Fight Brutality and Impunity, and, therefore, a default member of the FBI, but we don’t see him being hauled into Kahawa courts to face charges of terrorism. Some animals really are more equal than others.

But why is this administration fighting patriotic citizens that are fighting impunity? Or is impunity now a national value we need to protect?

Tell the country the truth. That despite arresting him so brutally, holding him for over a week, & a frivolous charge, you had nothing on him, so today the court released him on a cash bail of Kshs. 5,000. I appeared alongside Attalo Alvin & Eric Muriuki in this matter.

Correction correction; All members of the Fighting Brutality and Impunity group have today been released on a cash bail of Kshs. 50,000. The court has instructed the DCI to conduct independent investigations, not witch-hunts. Another score for the rule of law.
