We’ve had some really positive feedback on aspects of our proposed reforms, as well as plenty of challenge encouraging us to make improvements. I’m really grateful to everyone who has responded to the consultation - and Steve Rollett in particular for his 5 challenges.

A very thorough critique of the Ofsted proposals from Steve, and in response a promising piece from Ofsted's Rory Gribbell on where the consultation may bring change tes.com/magazine/analy…

One week left to share your examples of successful approaches to inclusion in mainstream education. We're so grateful for all contributions so far. Help us capture all of the best practice in our schools and classrooms. Submit > inclusioninpractice.org.uk by 1st May. 🙏

If it's true the STRB recommendation is 4% then the one thing government can't do is accept that without funding. For us: -our funding for next year is up by 0.7% per pupil -funding for the NI increase is ÂŁ1.5m less than its cost -each 1% pay increase costs us ~ÂŁ3m 1/2

Jon Coles (@joncoles01) 's Twitter Profile Photo

So we would have ÂŁ10.5m of unfunded costs. It's no good Treasury waving their hands and saying 'efficiency' - that would be ~400 job losses. Sector wide, that would extrapolate to ruinous harm in the one well-functioning public service: tens of thousands of redundancies. 2/2

Thanks to everyone who has submitted so far to Inclusion in Practice - we've got a wealth of rich practice to learn from and to share from across the sector. Due to several requests, we've extended the deadline until next Wednesday to give schools a bit extra time.

It was a pleasure to speak at the fantastic #CSTEarlyYears summit. The passion and expertise was inspiring and I came away with lots of ideas on how to keep delivering on our Plan for Change to give every child the best start in life.
