My previous USDA-ARS position is now open in Jackson, TN: research will focus on identifying and effectively utilizing host plant resistance to the soybean cyst nematode to reduce losses from this pathogen usajobs.gov/job/788221000. Class field trip, final day. We joined up with the Society of Nematologists tour group to visit the USDA entomopathogenic nematode lab in Byron GA and the USDA and UGA nematologists in Tifton GA

Spider mites can take out a #greenhouse #nematode 🪱 #peanut 🥜 test in a jiffy. These creatures multiply quickly and can kill peanut plants. A good #pesticide schedule is essential, but #resistance is a problem. Active Plant Nematologists

Dr. Travis Faske Travis Faske from the University of Arkansas highlighted the nematode distribution maps (among other resources) available at the Crop Protection Network Crop Protection Network during his presentation in the Management section of the SON Conference #SON2024 #Nematode

Having a great time at #SON2024 🪱😊 it’s so great to network and see all of the great research being done by #nematologists Society of Nematologists Active Plant Nematologists

Root-knot #nematodes LOVE okra! Digging #RKN females out of galls is fun 🤩 It is amazing how much nematode pressure these plants can handle 🌱 Active Plant Nematologists Society of Nematologists

Before and after: lesion #nematodes (Pratylenchus brachyurus) were extracted from #corn roots and root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne arenaria) were extracted from galled #peanut pods in the mist chamber 🪱 Active Plant Nematologists Society of Nematologists
