Surprisingly, last month was the driest October in 5 years. However, this hasn’t had any impact on the new 🌱 establishing. Surfaces are progressing nicely heading into the winter months. #LevenLinks

It’s been a busy few weeks on the links, with the shaping of the 5th walkway and a new bunker at the 15th hole. We’re also enlarging the 16th tee for a more natural look, with irrigation and turf to follow. Fescue surfaces are progressing nicely as winter approaches.

The 5th hole has also undergone a makeover, with the removal of the banking that hid the green, irrigation installed, and a grass path created through the center of the hole. #LevenLinks

Although rising temperatures are positive, an extra day is necessary for thawing and drying surfaces to avoid long-term damage. It's encouraging to see an improved weather forecast for maintenance and golf in the coming week. #LevenLinks

Bunker work continues with the reshaping of the green side bunkers at the 17th Green. We have highlighted this specific bunker to illustrate the need for reshaping. The bunker now integrates smoothly with its surroundings, utilizing the natural contours of the area. #LevenLinks

3/3 - Over the past few weeks, we have replaced the old astroturf pathway at the 1st tee with a more visually appealing monoblock surface. We have also replaced the steel fence posts; however, a few minor snagging tasks still need to be completed in the coming week. #LevenLinks

Spring is in the air, with fine turf surfaces flourishing. It’s all systems go with our new Bernhard Grinders being put to the test this week, many thanks to Willie Nisbet for the installation. #LevenLinks

Like many courses across the country, it is challenging to keep surfaces hydrated due to the dry conditions. Jan - April 2024 - 293mm Jan - April 2025 - 104mm However, the course is holding up well and the previous maintenance improvements are becoming increasingly evident.

Green surfaces are trending in the right direction with consistent low-nutrition applications and light sand top dressings. In essence, OM reducing down with denser, healthier turf surfaces. Many thanks to Sharon at ETL for her consistent data analysis. #LevenLinks
