I had a great day hosted by Prof. Michito Yoshizawa and his group at Science Tokyo (Institute of Science Tokyo) wonderful to hear about the amazing science this group is doing and to present some of things we've been up to lately.

My tour of Tokyo continues with another great day discussing chemistry with staff and students in Ookayama, hosted by Professor Kei Goto Science Tokyo (Institute of Science Tokyo)

Getting stuck into Kyoto and looking forward to the start of ISMSC2025, Kyoto #ismsc2025

Awesome #ismsc2025 lecture from my UoBChemistry colleague Jamie Lewis on controlling the formation of low symmetry cages by understanding subtle interactions. Beautiful science presented using beautiful slides (as ever)!

The challenges of being a first gen graduate are discussed in this article out now in Chemical Science doi.org/10.1039/D5SC00โฆ A collaborative study including the Schoolโs Sarah Pike and led by academics from University of Kent and highlighted in Chemistry World chemistryworld.com/news/first-genโฆ

The Royal Society of Chemistry has awarded prestigious research prizes to four Uni of Birmingham scientists. Congratulations to Professor Rachel OโReilly, Professor Stephen Goldup, Dr Nathan Davison, and Professor Vasilios Stavros: birmingham.ac.uk/news/2025/birmโฆ UoBChemistry Royal Society of Chemistry

Very proud to have been a minor player in this journey, although glad I don't have to try and wrap my head around the symmetry of these molecules any more! Congratulations Steve Goldup and The Goldup Lab ๐

Honoured to present at this yearโs Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting as a Young Scientist. I shared our campaign on mechanical stereochemistry, highlighting recent advances in the understanding and synthesis of mechanically stereogenic molecules. #LINO25 UoBChemistry The Royal Society
