Today in City Hall London Liberal Democrats got a guarantee the Mayor still opposes a third runway in Heathrow. We also pushed the Mayor to ensure that no London Youth charity loses out in funding from the National Youth Strategy. Also got a commitment he will attend London Youth Assembly awards!

The Times and The Sunday Times In Lewisham, where there is no opposition party, residents took it upon themselves to hold Labour to account. The council then decided to impose a limit on as to how many questions residents may submit to full council meetings, and are now abolishing local ward assemblies.

I was on BBC Radio London earlier to talk about the rising danger of Islamophobia and why London institutions urgently need Islamophobia training. I didn’t expect to get emotional live on air. But this is personal for me and 1.3 million Muslim Londoners. We deserve to feel safe.
